IBM Corporation

IBM was founded in 1911 and renamed as International Business Machines Corporation in 1924, long before the first modern computers were created.  From the 1950s onwards, IBM dominated the IT landscape with mainframe technology based on the System/360 architecture.  Over the last seventy years, IBM has created most of the founding technology in IT, holds thousands of patents and continues with research in areas like quantum computing.  IBM acquired Red Hat in 2019 and is on a transformation process (again), looking to stay relevant in the ever-changing world of technology.
