Hewlett Packard Enterprise has a long history that goes back to the 1930s, before the founding of Silicon Valley.  From early days as HP making oscillators, the company progressed into semiconductors in the 1960s and business calculators in the 1970s.  Following a merger with Compaq Corporation in 2002, the company divided into HP Inc (printers and laptops) and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.  Today, HPE is a infrastructure solutions provider for enterprise infrastructure, spanning servers, storage and networking.
